Birmingham Future’s City Centre committee, in partnership with Birmingham Forward, invites all Future and Forward members to hear the Rt Hon Philip Hammond MP, Secretary of State for Transport, speak about the Government’s proposal to build a new high speed rail network (HS2), starting in Birmingham and connecting our city with London and Europe to the south, and Manchester, Leeds and Scotland going north.

High speed rail is the biggest infrastructure proposal Birmingham has seen for generations. It will be a transformational project that will connect our city with fast and easy accessibility to locations in Europe and the UK. It will put us in a fantastic place to grow our economy and attract business and investment. Public consultation for HS2 is currently underway. If you are already a supporter of the HS2 proposals, you can show your support in advance of the event at www.campaignforhsr.com

We are delighted that the Secretary of State is able to come and speak to Birmingham’s business community to explain why we should get behind this significant opportunity. HS2 will put Birmingham at the heart of the UK’s proposed national high speed rail network and we are pleased to have the opportunity to hear first-hand exactly how this will happen and how the Birmingham business community can pledge its support. The event also allows the opportunity for a Q&A session.

Due to the high profile speaker, please book early to avoid disappointment as places are limited.

We are grateful for the support of our hosts Ballymore at their landmark One Snowhill development.
